PURE yachting Debuts Luxury Inflatable Yacht Tender
PURE yachting carbon fiber boats combine modern ultra light technology with old world luxury to produce the highest quality RIB available today. The luxury yacht tenders are the perfect complement to any power or sailing yacht. The lightweight structure makes PURE yachting RIBs easy to handle on or off a yacht, as well as improving fuel economy and performance. PURE yachting represents a unique combination of high-tech construction, mega-yacht attention to details, elegant design, optimized materials, and the best riding RIBs anywhere.
Newport, R.I., USA (November 10, 2009) – Last month in Annapolis, Md., PURE yachting debuted its new line of luxury inflatable yacht tenders at the U.S. Sailboat and Powerboats Shows. Created by yachting entrepreneur Peter Johnstone and built by the same team that constructs the high-performance GUNBOAT catamarans, the PURE yachting rigid inflatable boats (RIBs) utilize the same technology and the same attention to quality and detail as their multihull cousins.
“The concept for PURE yachting RIBs, like most great ideas, was born out of necessity,” said Josh Trout, president of PURE yachting. “Our customers wanted an easy-to-handle, lightweight inflatable boat that didn’t skimp on quality. Too many times we saw a lightweight yacht tender that had been reduced to nothing more than a cheap shell in order to get the boat to a manageable weight for the captain and crew. At PURE yachting, we created what we always wanted in a RIB: A great riding, dry-inflatable boat with no detail spared, and the best finishing we could find.”
PURE yachting inflatable yacht tenders are built alongside GUNBOAT’s successful custom catamarans in the company’s boat yard in Cape Town, South Africa. The yard utilizes modern carbon-fiber construction techniques and superyacht-level finishing for the most discerning customers. Described as the ‘sexy yacht tender’, PURE yachting employs improved comfort features such as teak decks and vibration dampening from the carbon fiber construction. “We reverse engineered the boat to get all of the qualities that we wanted, without adding any excess weight,” continued Trout. “What we came out with is the PURE yachting line of inflatable yacht tenders.”
PURE yachting RIB qualities:
- Infused with modern technology and luxury.
- Carbon fiber and Kevlar vacuum-bagged construction.
- Impressively lightweight – PURE 4.50 is 14’11” and 215 lbs. without the engine.
- Weight reduction leads to better fuel efficiency and performance on and off the water.
- Weight saving shared with a larger yacht, eliminating the need for a larger, heavier davit or lifting system.
- Improved comfort features such as teak decks and vibration dampening from the carbon fiber construction.
In early 2008, PURE built its first PURE yachting RIB as a GUNBOAT 66 tender for an owner with extensive travel plans. This boat prompted the creation of the PURE yachting line of inflatable RIBs. Currently, PURE yachting is producing four different models – PURE 4.50, 5.20, 5.75, 7.30 – ranging in size from 4.50 to 7.30 meters, with plans in the future for one smaller model as well as a larger, flagship PURE yachting RIB of 9 meters.
The PURE yachting crew will be at Key West Race Week, Jan. 18-22, 2010 followed by the Miami International Boat Show, Feb. 11-15, 2010. In addition to trade shows, PURE yachting will be at key regattas in and around the U.S. and Caribbean this winter, including the Heineken St. Maarten Regatta and St. Barth’s Bucket.
